Forest School at Heamoor

Forest School at Heamoor provides an enriching outdoor learning environment where children engage with nature through hands-on activities such as fire-making, shelter building, and observing wildlife. These experiences stimulate the senses, encouraging children to explore their surroundings using all of their senses. Our inclusive approach caters to diverse learning needs, ensuring that every child can participate and thrive.

Forest School supports children across Key Stages 1 and Early Years as well as Key Stage 2. By offering a wide range of activities, we promote children’s social, emotional, and physical development in a natural setting where they can truly be themselves.

By immersing our children in our beautiful woodland area, we nurture their physical and mental wellbeing, encouraging active play, creativity, and resilience. Time spent outdoors helps children develop a deeper connection with nature, reducing stress and promoting a sense of calm. These experiences also cultivate essential life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and independence, while nurturing a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.

Forest School is led by Mrs. Reeves and an amazing team of Teaching Assistants, whose enthusiasm and care ensure that every session is a positive, confidence-building experience for our children.
