Spring Term - Week 1
Spring Term
We had a fantastic day in school starting our project all about the eighties and nineties!
We looked at the politics of the eighties, fashion choices (love those baggy, bright clothes), technology at the time (remember the original Game Boy?), art and music.
We listened to lots of different songs, learning to hear different instruments and to listen closely to the lyrics. We learned about Band Aid in the eighties and the use of music to help others in the world.
As we now move to Home Learning, our focus for Violet Class will be working through the revision guides you were given before Christmas. At the moment, we are working towards being SATs ready and confident that we are doing our best to succeed in the exams in May!
I would recommend short sessions - around 20-30 minutes at a time on each subject. Ideally, the children will complete at least one Reading element and one Grammar element from their English purple book and a Maths page from their red revision book each day. As well as completing some of the workbook, the best way to revise is to mix up the approach to keep revision interesting by singing songs, making posters, watching videos etc.
There will be ToDos set on Purple Mash and TTRS can also be accessed for times tables practise (passwords are in the children's planners).
To ensure our fantastic Topic is also covered, please find the grid below. There are lots of lovely suggestions for different areas of learning.
Please send photos through on Dojo so I can add them to a gallery to show everyone how amazing Violet Class are!
If you need any help, support or advise, please contact me via Dojo or the school office.
Thank you in advance for your Home Learning efforts!
