Welcome to Orange Class - Year 1

Class Teacher: Miss T Cocks
Welcome to Orange Class!  On this page you will a snapshot of our learning.  Our Homework Grid details the tasks set for the Spring Term and we are looking forward to seeing all the amazing work the children complete!  If you have any questions, please come and see Miss Cocks at the end of a school day or book an appointment with the office.
Spellings!
Children have spellings which link to their phonics.
Children will have a little 'have a go' style test on a Monday as part of their group.
We will also be looking at these words throughout the week within their phonics sessions.
Monday 7th January 2019
Welcome Back!
The children have settled really beautifully back into school life.
This term our project is based on the title..."Would you call India home?" Please see below for the overview and homework grid which has
been sent home with your child today.
'Maths of the Day' homework will also be set each
Monday to be returned the following Monday.
We really appreciate your support with your child's learning at home.
Kind Regards,
Miss Cocks
18.1.19
This week we have been learning the text 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' By Judith Kerr.
We had a real tiger come and visit our class!  He even ate Miss Cocks' packed lunch.
Orange class came up with some brilliant adjectives to describe him.
Hopefully he will not be back again soon!
28.01.19
Orange Class had a lovely day learning all about Hinduism with Daya.
They got to dress up in traditional Indian clothing, learnt some really funky dances
and cooked some yummy chapati.
St. Michael's Mount - 04.04.19

Orange Class had an amazing day visiting St., Michael's Mount today.  Although it was a little chilly, the children all loved looking around the castle, finding the giant's heart and playing games on the grass.  We had an Easter egg hunt and a ride on the boat and managed to miss all of the rain too!
